SHIIR Rugs is a collaboration between third generation rug purveyor Oscar Isberian Rugs and renowned interior design firm Soucie Horner. Because we’re interior designers ourselves, we have first-hand insight into the challenges designers face, and the needs of end users. It’s the reason we’re devoted to the celebration of textures, materials, artistry, and innovation. The reason we pursue originality even as we hand-weave using time-honored techniques. And the reason we unite inspired design with functionality and fine construction.

Design Process
We begin the design process by experimenting with materials. What offers the highest sheen? The softest hand? The richest texture? Only once we’ve answered these questions do we begin to create patterns that celebrate the inherent qualities of the materials we choose.
Preparation
Whether pashmina, cashmere, mohair, silk or wool, the luxurious fibers our rugs are woven from are almost always hand-carded and hand-spun. This yields a prized inconsistency to the thickness and surface texture of a rug, which accentuates its handcrafted artistry.
Production
We pride ourselves on our innovative techniques. We oxidize. We embroider. We mix materials. We push boundaries because we can – because our artisan partners are just as interested in innovating as we are. Together, we join in an exciting exploration of possibilities.
Quality Control
At SHIIR, we’re dedicated to your satisfaction from start to finish. Our quality control team on the ground in India oversees production of every rug at each stage of the process, and inspects each rug before it leaves our looms.
